Introduction

Welcome to Rep ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your data. This Privacy Policy explains how the Rep mobile application ("App") collects, uses, and protects your information.

Our Privacy-First Approach

Rep is designed with privacy at its core. Unlike many fitness apps, we do NOT:

Require you to create an account
Store your data on our servers
Track your activity across other apps or websites
Sell or share your personal information with third parties
Use analytics or tracking services that collect your data

Information Storage

Local Storage Only

All workout data, exercise history, custom routines, and user preferences are stored exclusively on your device using local storage (AsyncStorage). This includes:

Workout sessions and exercise performance data
Custom workouts and exercises you create
User preferences (theme, units, rest timer settings)
Onboarding information (name, weight unit preference, referral source)
Notification permissions

Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export it.

Data We Process (On Your Device)

The App processes the following information locally on your device:

Workout Data:

Exercise sets, reps, weight, and rest times
Workout history and completion dates
Personal records and progress statistics

User Preferences:

Display units (metric/imperial)
Rest timer duration
Theme settings
Notification preferences

Optional Information:

Your name (if provided during onboarding)
Referral source (how you heard about the app)

Notifications

If you grant notification permissions, the App uses Expo Notifications to send local reminders and rest timer alerts. These notifications are generated entirely on your device and do not involve any external servers or third-party services.

Data Export and Backup

You have complete control over your data:

Export: You can export all your data as a backup file at any time
Import: You can restore your data from a backup file
Delete: You can clear all data from the App at any time through the settings

When you export data, it is saved as a file on your device. We do not have access to these backups.

Authentication (Optional)

The App includes optional authentication features powered by Supabase for users who wish to sync data across devices. If you choose to use authentication:

Your email address is used solely for authentication purposes
Authentication data is processed by Supabase (our third-party authentication provider)

You are not required to create an account to use Rep. All core features work without authentication.

The App uses the following third-party services:

Supabase (Optional - Only if you choose to authenticate)

Purpose: User authentication
Data shared: Email address (only if you create an account)

Children's Privacy

Rep is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
